ifilm to start broadcasting ‘Vafa’

ifilm is to start broadcasting the series ‘Vafa’ from today.

Iranian romantic spy TV series Vafa is scheduled to go on ifilm playlist on September 02, 2020.

Directed by Mohammad-Hossein Latifi, the series is the story of a man who is entangled in a spying game while he is trying to reunite with his beloved.

The man called Joobin has spent the last two years of his life in an Iranian prison for something he swears he has not done. When some mysterious figures break him out of prison, the only thing on his mind is to get himself to his beloved in Lebanon, Vafa, whom he left behind two years ago.

Mohsen Khavari, a detective at Tehran's police department, is hot on Joobin's trail and follows him to Beirut for bringing him back to justice. Joobin soon figures out it was his uncle along with his deceased father who helped him escape and that they were spies working for Israel. He's now caught up in a game of espionage as it becomes clear that the Israelis are only using Joobin as a tool to get to their real target which is assassinating Vafa's brother.

Some of the well-known Iranian actors including Hanieh Tavassoli, Farhad Aslani, Pouriya Poursorkh, Farhad Qaemian, Mohammad-Reza Iranmanesh and Mohsen Qazi-Moradi are among the cast of the series.

Replacing ‘The Sound of Rain’, the first episode of ‘Vafa’ will be screened today at 18:00 GMT. Each episode of the series will be repeated the next day at 00:00, 09:00 and 15:00 all GMT times.
